The Environmental Sustainability Director will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing comprehensive and effective environmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international ESG related regulations. The role will work cross functionally to ensure iRobot meets its regulatory obligations providing guidance and direction at multiple levels of the company. This is a highly visible and critical role leading iRobot’s sustainability, climate, and environmental programs. The Sustainability Program Manager will also be responsible for ESG related communications and reporting to our customers and other stakeholders ensuring iRobot is well positioned in the marketplace. This position is an individual contributor role and must be local to MA or willing to relocate.

What You Will Do

  • Lead development and implementation of materiality assessments.
  • Develop and implement processes to measure and report GHG emissions (scope 1,2,3)
  • Assess materiality results and GHG footprint, develop strategies and plans to manage and mitigate material climate impacts.
  • Key contributor in the development of any external climate related goals and commitments, develop internal policies where needed.
  • Work with finance, supply chain, legal, and other functional organizations to complete environmental and social reports for various external disclosures and reports, both for regulatory purposes and customers & stakeholders.
  • Support sustainability reporting, including tracking and quantitative analysis of key environmental metrics and developing dashboards.
  • Support the preparation of annual disclosures, including corporate ESG reports, CDP, and others.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, industry partners, regulatory agencies, and other customers to understand sustainable best practices, share knowledge, and develop partnerships to manage emissions reduction initiatives in line with corporate strategies and objectives.
  • Regular communication with iRobot executive team regarding strategies, plans, and status of ESG related initiatives.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously in a fact paced, results driven environment.  Including external consulting management.
  • Continuous monitoring and assessment of ESG and climate issues globally, including recommended actions to proactively manage and address such issues.
  • Bring awareness to sustainability efforts internally, be a thought leader.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • 12+ years experience in environmental strategy, implementation, and performance, with a focus on actionable programs and measurable progress
  • A degree in environmental science, engineering, policy, business, economics, or management is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of environmental aspects including but not limited to GHG & and carbon accounting, waste management, and circular economy, ESG related regulatory requirements globally.
  • Experience and knowledge working with ESG reporting frameworks and related metrics
  • Experience with environmental compliance audits and assessments
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and risk assessments
  • Exceptional program management and leadership skills
  • Prior experience with executive presentation and engagement
  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement environmental programs and initiatives
  • Preferred familiarity with data governance & analytics methodologies and platforms
