Introduction
iRobot Japan is seeking an experienced eCommerce Senior Sales Specialist to support and accelerate the growth of our eCommerce business, with a strong focus on online marketplaces such as Rakuten and Yahoo.This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for translating eCommerce strategy into high-quality execution. The role plays a critical part in driving day-to-day performance, improving operational effectiveness, and delivering measurable business results across assigned platforms.
The position works closely with the Marketing & eCommerce team, including Digital Marketing and Content Production, as well as cross-functional stakeholders, to execute 4P initiatives and ensure a seamless, end-to-end customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute eCommerce and marketplace initiatives in alignment with the overall strategy, taking ownership of day-to-day planning, execution, and performance tracking for assigned platforms
- Manage and optimize 3P marketplace operations (e.g., Rakuten, Yahoo), including merchandising, promotions, pricing updates, and campaign execution
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with marketplace partners, collaborating closely on promotional planning, content updates, and operational improvements
- Monitor sales performance and key KPIs, analyze trends, and identify actionable insights to improve revenue and profitability
- Partner with the Digital Marketing team to plan, execute, and optimize on- and off-platform advertising activities, ensuring effective use of media investment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Sales, Product, and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution of product launches, assortment updates, and promotional initiatives
- Ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience through strong operational execution, including content management in coordination with Content Production and close collaboration with Customer Support
- Act as a key execution partner to the eCommerce Manager by providing data-driven input, operational insights, and executional leadership to support decision-making
Qualifications Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing marketplace businesses such as Rakuten and Yahoo
- Minimum 5 years of overall business experience
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Rakuten Merchant Server
- Demonstrated success in core eCommerce functions, including merchandising, sales forecasting, KPI tracking, advertising, and customer service
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into clear actions
- Proactive, hands-on, and execution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and stakeholders
- Language: Fluent in Japanese; proficient in written business English (able to prepare and manage business documents in English)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Experience in global companies, consumer electronics, or major eCommerce platforms (Amazon, Rakuten, Yahoo!) is a plus
