Sr. Transportations Analyst, Global Logistics

Introduction

As part of the iRobot Product Supply Team, the Senior Transportation Analyst will partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the business for the Americas region. You will work in a dynamic operation’s centric environment, interfacing regularly with the America’s sales team, global cross-functional teams, and external suppliers, to support an efficient, strategically focused, Product Supply organization.
The Senior Transportation Analyst will manage all international transportation activity via ocean and air. This includes cost control, annual negotiations, delivering tight deadlines and servicing internal and external customers. The analyst will also be responsible for regional guidance and training on Hazardous Materials.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, negotiate and execute sourcing events for transportation providers on a defined cadence. Quote rates and procure capacity for special projects and urgent requests. Approve spot rates and air freight as necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with transportation providers and serve as the primary point of contact. Manage carrier and freight forwarder performance for all modes, recognizing wins and holding partners accountable when performance does not meet expectations.
  • Meet regularly with providers to discuss forecasts and capacity information to improve planning. Ensure adequate equipment/coverage is available to support business needs and growth.
  • Monitor payment of freight invoices and ensure freight payment vendors have accurate GL coding and rates. Monitor accessorial charges and aim to mitigate when possible.
  • Research industry performance, standards, and benchmarks to analyze performance and resolve operational issues.
  • Prepare Hazardous Material declarations and shipping guides as necessary. Ensure accuracy and compliance with all laws and regulations. Create relevant policies and training on iRobot products as required.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of logistics experience with solid business acumen and knowledge of consumer products. Direct experience with ocean and/or air shipping highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations and procedures: DOT/ IATA/IMDG

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

  • Technology savvy, advanced proficiency in MS Excel, experience utilizing ERP systems (Oracle). Tableau experience a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasiveness and overall verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven, target and process driven; a team player with a “can-do” and determined attitude.
  • Strong medium- and long-term forward planning, organizational, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills
  • Passionate, customer focused approach
